I Need Help With New Baby Costs
I have just had a baby boy and if I’m completely honest I wasn’t completely prepared. What with working right up to my due date and other commitments I didn’t get a chance to get some items. What I would like to know is are there any grants for single mothers that have just given birth? I just need to get a few baby bits. I heard off a colleague that there was a grant, sure start or something like that for new borns. I also heard that the new government was scrapping some of the grants so I want to get in there quick if they are still going, though it wouldnt surprise me if I missed out. Also are they means tested? I know I should of got this all sorted before hand but I just couldn’t get the time. At the moment, luckily, I’ve had friends and family all come to my aid, lending and buying me bits and bobs to settle the baby (and me) in. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.
